I'm Dan, a.k.a. the Spacebird. I am a conservative without a political party, as I increasingly find both sides repulsive. I am a Protestant non-denomenational Christian who believes in the innerrant authority of the Scriptures alone. I work at a technical support callcenter, where I talk to people all day who come to me for help, but yet somehow believe they know more than me about the issue at hand.
I like almost all kinds of music, but put me within earshot of "country western music" at your own risk. I play guitar and bass guitar. I am a poet, songwriter, and essayist. I normally enjoy talking to people. I make my own LJ and AIM icons, manage my own forums, and build my own websites. I'm a true nerd in every sense of the word. But above all else, I am a fully devoted follower of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that is what defines me.
If you want to friend me, go ahead, I really don't care who reads this and who doesn't... however, I don't guarantee I'll friend you back. I usually do, but if you're not on my friends list, don't take offense - I just don't have time to keep up with fifty a hundred journals.
Be aware that my journal is often filled with brutal honesty and frank opinion, and thus may come off as arrogant or offensive. Be assured this is not intended; however, with most things until my point of view is proven wrong, I believe it to be correct and will speak accordingly. My mind is open and my heart is to learn, so feel free to share your thoughts.
...And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a communist; Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a socialist; Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was not a trade unionist; Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— because I was not a Jew; Then they came for me— and there was no one left to speak out. - Martin Niemöller
Political correctness is just tyranny with manners. I wish for you the courage to be unpopular. Popularity is history’s pocket change. Courage is history’s true currency. - Charlton Heston, speech before the Arizona House of Representatives, January 2000.
